Doing manual send/receive of snapshots, and I’m wondering if there is a way to stop Rockstor from seeing them and mounting them as shares.
Newish user here. I am using the built-in Snapper functionality for snapshots, but I also am doing some of my own send/receive to maintain a backup copy on an external drive. Right now it’s manual, but I will automate this soon. Essentially I am doing something similar to Rockstor’s replication but to another drive instead of to another server.
I have tried putting these in various locations on the drive and in hidden directories, but Rockstor seems to be quite good at finding them. They are really going to clutter up my shares, as I plan on keeping lots of them.
Is there a way that I can put them somewhere or name them in such a way that Rockstor will ignore them? I’ve done a lot of searching, but I can’t find an answer to this.
I recognize that this is an unorthodox way to use Rockstor, as I’m stepping outside of it a bit. I’d like to be able to maintain my own automated backups until such a point that I set up a 2nd Rockstor server.
